Pharmacological action LIO T3 (Liothyronine sodium) 25mg
Pharmacology: the drugs act – makes up for the deficiency of thyroid hormones. Increases need tissues of oxygen, stimulates the growth and differentiation of tissues, increases the basal metabolic rate (proteins, fats and carbohydrates). In small doses has anabolic, and in large — catabolic effect. It inhibits the production of thyroid-stimulating hormone. Once inside 95% is absorbed within 4 h. Latent period of 4-8 hours the blood binds strongly with proteins. The maximum pharmacological effect occurs in 2-3 days. T_1/2 — 2.5 days.
Indications for use
Application: Primary hypothyroidism, myxedema, cretinism, cerebrohepatorenal disease with a hypothyroid conditions hypothyroid obesity, endemic and sporadic goiter, thyroid cancer, diagnosis of hypothyroidism.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity, thyrotoxicosis, diabetes, Addison’s disease, adrenal insufficiency, cachexia, coronary artery disease.
Side effects: Headache, irritability, tachycardia, arrhythmia, angina, heart failure, dysmenorrhea, allergic reactions.
Interactions: Increases effect of oral anticoagulants, vasoconstrictors, reduces insulin and other hypoglycemic agents. Activity decreases oral contraceptives and kolestiraminom. Increases the likelihood of developing side effects of the prescription of antidepressants, cardiac glycosides, ketamine.
